Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the beef
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion thinly sliced For sautéing
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 4 cups leafy greens (like arugula or mixed greens)
  • 1 cup sliced pickles
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise For the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup For the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard For the sauce
  • Cooked bacon (optional, for topping)
  • Buns (optional, for serving on the side)

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients and preparing your workspace. Make sure your veggies are washed and chopped.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper. Allow the beef to sear and develop a crust, approximately 3-5 minutes before flipping. Cook until it reaches your desired doneness.
  2. In another pan, add a little bit of olive oil if necessary and sauté the sliced onions until they become soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes. You want them to caramelize slightly for added flavor.
Assembly
  1. Once your beef is done, remove the skillet from heat. In a large serving bowl, combine the leafy greens, sautéed onions, halved cherry tomatoes, and pickles.
  2. Layer the cooked ground beef over the vegetable mixture, followed by the shredded cheddar cheese.
Sauce Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard until smooth. Adjust seasoning if needed.
Serving
  1. Drizzle the sauce over the top of the Smash Burger Bowl. For an even more indulgent experience, crumble cooked bacon over the bowl.
  2. You can also serve with toasted burger buns on the side for that traditional touch.
Enjoy!
  1. Grab a fork and dig into your flavorful Smash Burger Bowl!
