Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
- Add the chopped onions and green bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté until they're soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine and simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Transfer the Sloppy Joe mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
Biscuit Topping
- In a medium bowl, combine the biscuit mix, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, melted butter, garlic powder, parsley, and salt. Stir until just combined, being careful not to over-mix.
- Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough over the Sloppy Joe filling, covering the surface as evenly as possible.
Baking
- Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuit topping is golden brown and cooked through.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm and enjoy your Sloppy Joe Cheddar Bay Biscuit Casserole.
Notes
Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. To reheat, place in the oven at 350°F until warmed through or microwave individual servings for convenience.
