Ingredients
  

Main ingredients
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 3 tablespoons butter Use unsalted butter for better control of flavors.
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows Alternatively, use about 6 cups of mini marshmallows.
  • to taste Food coloring (green and red) For a spooky effect.
  • optional Candy melts or chocolate For decoration.
  • as desired Edible decorations (like gummy worms or candy eyeballs) To create additional spooky decorations.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by greasing a cookie sheet or baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until melted and smooth.
  3. After the marshmallows are melted, add a few drops of green food coloring and stir well to distribute the color.
  4. Gradually add the Rice Krispies cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture. Stir gently until completely coated.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool until manageable, grease your hands, and shape into brain forms. Place finished brains on the greased cookie sheet.
Decoration
  1. Melt candy melts or chocolate per package instructions and drizzle over the shaped brains using a piping bag or fork.
  2. Press gummy worms or use candy eyeballs for decoration.
  3. Mix additional food coloring into the melted marshmallow mixture for more vibrant colors.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. If too sticky, cool in the refrigerator to firm up.
