  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
Garnish
  • Green onions, sliced For garnish

Method
 

Cooking the Beef
  1. In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Adding Aromatics
  1. Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  2. Pour the sauce over the cooked beef and stir to combine.
Adding the Veggies
  1. Add the broccoli florets and shredded carrots to the skillet, mixing them into the beef mixture.
  2. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
