  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder Adjust according to your spice preference.
  • 2 tablespoons hot honey Can adjust quantity for desired sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt To taste.
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown) Rice serves as the base of the bowls.
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack) Mix and match cheese varieties.

  1. In a large skillet, over medium heat, add the ground beef. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Stir in the diced onions, minced garlic, and bell peppers. Cook until the onions are translucent and the peppers are tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle in the smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.
  4. Lower the heat, then add the hot honey and soy sauce to the skillet. Stir until the beef and vegetables are evenly coated in the sauce and heated through.
  5. In serving bowls, layer cooked rice on the bottom. Top with the hot honey ground beef mixture.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the hot beef mixture. Optionally, garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side for added zest.

Notes

These bowls are customizable; consider adding salad, roasted vegetables, or tortilla chips. For lower carb options, serve in lettuce wraps. Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
