For the meat mixture
  • 1 lb ground beef For a flavor-packed base.

For the topping
  • 1 cup ketchup For coating the meatloaf.
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese To sprinkle on top.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork.
  3. Add breadcrumbs, 2/3 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, milk, parsley, onion, garlic, eggs, salt, pepper, and Italian herbs.
  4. Mix all ingredients until well combined, but do not over-mix.
  5. Pour the mixture into a loaf pan, forming it into a loaf shape.
  6. Spread 1 cup of ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Top with the remaining 1/4 cup of shredded Parmesan cheese.
Baking
  1. Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  2. Once baked, remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
Serving
  1. Slice and serve warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.

Notes

For the best meatloaf, use a mix of ground beef and pork. Don't skip the resting time to ensure juicy slices. Customize with your favorite mix-ins such as bell peppers or bacon bits.
