Method
Prepare the Cookie Fries
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
- Scoop the dough onto a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut the dough into fry-shaped strips.
- Place the cookie shapes on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
Make the Frosting Dip
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Add milk one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached. Mix in food coloring if desired.
- Serve the frosting dip in a small bowl with the cooled cookie fries.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling for a firmer dough. Experiment with spices for added flavor. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
