For the Cookie Fries
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional) Use if desired
For the Frosting Dip
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk Adjust for desired consistency
  • Food coloring (optional)

Method
 

Prepare the Cookie Fries
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  6. Scoop the dough onto a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut the dough into fry-shaped strips.
  7. Place the cookie shapes on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
Make the Frosting Dip
  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  3. Add milk one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached. Mix in food coloring if desired.
  4. Serve the frosting dip in a small bowl with the cooled cookie fries.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling for a firmer dough. Experiment with spices for added flavor. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
