  • 12 ounces bowtie pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped any color
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning adjust to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional for extra heat
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Method
 

Cooking Pasta
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and cook according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Browning Beef
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Drain excess fat.
Sautéing Vegetables
  1. Add the diced onion and chopped bell pepper to the skillet with the beef. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until the vegetables soften. Then, add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
Creating the Sauce
  1. Pour in the heavy cream and stir in the Cajun seasoning. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.
Adding Cheese and Seasoning
  1. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Allow the cheese to melt and the sauce to thicken up slightly.
Combining Pasta and Sauce
  1. Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat each piece of pasta with the creamy Cajun sauce.
Serving
  1. Once everything is combined and heated through, serve immediately. Garnish each plate with chopped parsley for a fresh touch.
