Ingredients
-
8 oz fresh burrata cheese (1 large or 2 small balls)
-
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
-
2 large eggs, beaten
-
1 cup panko breadcrumbs (or regular)
-
1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional, for added flavor)
-
Vegetable or canola oil (for frying)
Optional for serving:
-
Fresh basil or arugula
-
Tomato sauce, pesto, or balsamic glaze
-
Extra Parmesan for garnish
Instructions
-
Chill & Dry: Keep burrata cold until ready to fry. Gently pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
-
Set Up Coating Station: In three shallow bowls add flour to one, beaten eggs to another, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan to the third.
-
Coat the Burrata: Roll the burrata in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. For an extra-crispy crust, repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps.
-
Fry It: Heat 2 inches of oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the coated burrata in the hot oil and fry for 1–2 minutes, turning gently to get even golden color.
-
Drain & Serve: Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve warm with your favorite sauce and garnish.
Notes
-
For best results, don’t skip the double coating it helps the burrata hold together and keeps the inside perfectly gooey.
-
You can prep the coated burrata in advance and refrigerate it. Fry just before serving for maximum crispiness.
