  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
  • ½ cup diced pickles
  • ½ cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

For the Big Mac Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook the beef: In a skillet, sauté onions until soft, then add ground beef and seasonings. Cook until browned, then drain excess grease.
  3. Prepare the sauce: In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, and vinegar until smooth.
  4. Assemble the casserole: Layer cooked beef in the dish, sprinkle cheese over it, then arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer.
  5. Bake for 35 minutes or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
  6. Garnish and serve: Drizzle Big Mac sauce over the top, add diced pickles, shredded lettuce, and sesame seeds. Serve immediately!

Notes

  • For extra crunch, pre-bake the tater tots for 10 minutes before assembling.
  • Make it spicy: Add diced jalapeños or sriracha to the sauce.
  • Meal prep friendly: Refrigerate leftovers for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheating tip: Reheat in the oven or air fryer to keep the tater tots crispy.
